Fans of the Detroit Lions will have to dig deeper in their wallets this year.
The NFL franchise has decided to raise ticket prices for the first time in five seasons.
On average, tickets will go up by just less than eight percent.
On the team's website, Lions President Tom Lewand explained that the increase is necessary to "invest in the product in order to stay competitive in the league."
Lewand said the price for 30,000 seats — a majority of those in Ford Field — are rising between three and four per cent.
The Detroit's new average season ticket price is about $72 US.
The Lions are coming off their first 10-win since since 1995. They went 10-6 and made the post-season for the first time since 1999.
