After touching down in Los Angeles on Friday in a lavender Peridot dress by designer Roksanda Ilincic, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, continued to wow fashion fans with a completely different evening look.

The adored Royal -- along with her husband, Prince William -- attended a private reception held at British Consul General Barbara Hay's Los Angeles residence on Friday night, wearing an emerald-hued dress by American designer Diane Von Furstenburg.

Soccer star David Beckham was on hand for the gathering, as well as British actor/writer Stephen Fry, who Tweeted about his Royal encounter.

"Entirely charming evening at the British Consulate here in LA," he wrote. "The Cambridges dazzled everyone."

On Saturday, the Royal couple will head up the California coast to picturesque Santa Barbara, where Prince William will compete in a charity polo match at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club in support of American Friends of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Henry (Prince Harry's real name), while Kate will hand out prizes to the lucky winners.

Tickets for the highly anticipated event cost either $400 (for a seat in the stands) or $4,000 (to enjoy lunch in a tented area with William and Kate).

Access Hollywood guest correspondent Jayde Donovan, who arrived at the event early Saturday morning, said the scene at the Polo club is tight in anticipation of the day's Royal guests.

Bomb-sniffing dogs were spotted, and many guests arrived via private helicopters.

Fellow Brits Orlando Bloom, Alex Pettyfer and "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" beauty Rosie Huntington-Whiteley are expected to attend Saturday's sold-out match, according to a source for Us Weekly.

The royal couple will follow the day's tournament with a star studded BAFTA bash, hosted by "American Idol" executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

Jennifer Lopez and Mark Anthony are among the superstar celebrities expected to attend the soiree, meant to highlight British emerging talent, including former "Undercovers" actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw and recent "Game of Thrones" star Harry Lloyd.

Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Kristen Chenoweth and Ryan Reynolds are also expected to attend.

Of course Kate can afford to be a fashion plate -> all courtesy of UK's taxpayers money.
When in Quebec, some 60 protestors were present and shouted, "Parasites!".

Wake up and smell the coffee already!!! Do you not keep up on things before you sprout your mouth! Many years ago, British parliment (with the blessing of the royal family), passed legislation that makes the royals (other the Queen herself), pay their own way. The younger royals do not receive any UK stippen, aka tax money paycheques!
You really don't believe kate pays for all these dresses, do you??? The designers are thrilled to have her wear anything of their's and thus give them to her to wear. They are usually then donated to some high society charity auction.
