Easter Monday roundup: What's open, what's closed in the city
The final day of the Easter holiday is shaping up to be a real beauty weather-wise, but some stores and all government buildings will remain closed until tomorrow.
A mix of clouds and sunny skies are expected for most of the day, with a high of 22 C in the downtown core and about 14 C by the lake. Temperatures are set to drop to around 13 C by evening, and will likely hover in the mid-teens for the remainder of the week.
If you're hoping to get rid some of the trash that accumulated over the holiday weekend, Toronto's garbage collection services available today will depend on where you live.
Residential garbage collection service isn't typically provided on Mondays, so the public will be unaffected.
For those in apartment or condo buildings with city bulk collection, the usual Monday collection will be done on Tuesday. A complete list of services is available on the City of Toronto's website.
All government and municipal buildings, including Toronto City Hall and all public libraries, are closed today.
If you happen to be waiting for a package to arrive through the mail — or any mail, at all — that will have to wait until at least Tuesday, as well.
Similarly, the AGO will be closed for the day.
Banks throughout the city and the Toronto Stock Exchange are on normal Monday hours.
If you’re hoping to savour the day by cracking open a tasty beverage and hitting the links, you're in luck: select LCBO stores are open throughout the city, and the Beer Store has returned to regular Monday hours. All five city-owned golf courses are open.
