Enfield man dead after Friday evening vehicle crash

Driver facing 2 charges after Enfield crash killed a man

A 21-year-old Enfield man who died in a single-vehicle crash Friday evening is being remembered as a leader.

Marian Foskett knew the deceased and says that he played on a soccer team and was the voice of the team.

"A lot of people are sad. They're hurting, they need some sort of feeling of closure," she said.

East Hants RCMP say the deceased was the passenger in a vehicle that left the roadway, flipped on its side and came to rest in a ditch.

The driver, 22, was not injured, but was arrested for impaired driving causing death and remains in police custody.

"People need to be more careful," said Foskett.

Angela MacDonald also lives in the area and heard lots of emergency vehicles going to the scene of the crash on Friday evening.

“It’s very sad. There have been quite a few crashes in this area that have had alcohol involved,” she said.

People have been visiting the crash site throughout the day to pay their respects to the deceased.

The exact cause of the crash is being investigated.

Police received the call about the Renfrew Road crash just after 10:30 p.m. on Friday.
