Famous Saskatchewan cat Bruce Almighty has a new home

Bruce Almighty's journey from an operating table to the hearts of cat lovers finally has a happy ending.

The Regina Humane Society announced on Facebook the cat has been adopted after spending months recovering.

In March, the cat was found severely injured with electrical tape wrapped around his paws.

"Bruce Almighty's story touched millions of people from around the world and the outpouring of concern for him was truly moving," the Regina Humane Society wrote on its Facebook page.

When Bruce's story went public, a GoFundMe campaign was set up and exploded in popularity. The fundraiser has brought in more than $24,000.

"The donations given in Bruce Almighty's name not only helped him, but have and will help many other abandoned and mistreated animals to have a second chance at the life they deserve."

The Humane Society said it would like to thank everyone who responded to Bruce Almighty, whether it was offering donations or encouragement.

"He is a determined little fighter that surprised many as he triumphed over numerous hurdles and challenges during his long recovery."
