Fun and quirky business news from around the world.

Need a workout buddy? Look no further than your best friend.

There are people gyms, and there are doggy gyms. K9 Fit Club — whose slogan is "Don't Sit. Get Fit!" — aims to offer the best of both worlds by providing a place where you and your pup can get the pawsitive benefits of getting fit together.

With classes such as Oh My Dog Bootcamp, Bow Wow Bootcamp, Sit and Be Fit, Waggin' Wheelchair, Tai Chi Wa Wa and Pupilates, the gym aims to help people achieve not only their own health and fitness goals, but also their dogs' — all in a fun and supportive environment. Classes and nutrition programs are developed and taught by veterinarians, doctors, certified animal behaviorists, and people and dog personal trainers.

Founder Tricia Montgomery opened the first K9 Fit Club on Aug. 2, 2012, in Hinsdale, Ill., and soon afterward, opened locations in Chicago and Westmont, Ill. Inspired by her experience as executive director of the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association, and after losing more than 130 lbs. using her own weight-loss and exercise plan, she decided to use her passion and love for people and dogs to establish the K9 Fit Club business.
