Ford's expenses suspiciously low, woman says

A Toronto freelance journalist has filed a complaint about the expense claims submitted by the mayor's office.

Jude MacDonald says claims by Rob Ford's staff are suspiciously low for the first three months of this year — around $1,700 dollars for a staff of 17.

MacDonald also said that some of the claims that were made were incomplete.

"It raised real questions about what's happening in his office," said MacDonald. "I feel that politicians should be fulsome in their submissions. And this is beyond comprehension."

Mayor Ford's office made no claims for office travel or office expenses for January through March.

And most expenses were classified under "office equipment" and "telecom services."

The mayor's office has not been available for comment.
