A bearded Imgur user has published a hilarious text message exchange with a woman who kept getting the wrong number.
The man, known simply as EWW3 on the social networking site, posted his conversations over several months with the woman who initially addressed him as “Wendy.”
But despite the addition of a bearded selfie and the response “I ain’t never been called Wendy before,” the woman still didn’t get the rather glaring hint.
“Clueless,” the man sighed.

Despite receiving the bearded picture message, the woman happily continued: “Hey this is the cake I ordered for my nephew. It was 35.00.”
“Looks great,” the man wrote, alongside another selfie of him wearing a bemused expression while giving the thumbs up.
Taking no notice, the woman started discussing the ins and outs of the cake before the man enquired about her nephew’s party.

For the first time, the woman seemed confused, telling the bearded man: “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I wish there was a party.”
In the commentary above his posts, the man pondered sending his new phone friend “a few more beard pics” for her to finally get the message.
“Let me know if it tastes as good as it looks,” he wrote alongside yet another snapshot of himself with beard in full glory.

For some unknown reason, the woman failed to correct the phone number error, and texted the bearded man a few months later, telling “Wendy” how much she misses working with her.
Wearily, the man sent yet another bearded selfie, this time spelling out the error.
“I’m still not Wendy, but I’m sure she misses you as well,” he wrote.

Still under the impression she is chatting to Wendy, the woman later sent another message to her bearded new pal, informing him that she’s running late.
“Gonna have to cancel - I’m eating a late lunch, although you’re probably wanting to meet with Wendy and not me huh?” he replied, alongside yet another bemused selfie.
“Na, I can go later miss you guys,” she blithely replied.
“Maybe I should just accept my life as the bearded Wendy,” the man wrote above the post.
Luckily, the woman finally realised her mistake.
“Sorry, keep getting number wrong,” she admitted.
