Gimli RCMP looking for red-haired suspect in sexual assault
Gimli RCMP are asking for the public's help in finding a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman back in September.
Police said the victim, a 42-year-old woman, was driving southbound on Highway 8 from Gimli, Man. around 11 p.m. on Sept. 17, when she got a flat tire just north of Highway 229. A male motorist in a gray or silver SUV stopped to offer to her a ride to Winnipeg Beach.
But police said the man drove her instead to a secluded area where she was sexually assaulted.
The man then left the woman on the road and drove off.
Police are looking for a man with a solid' build, between 40 and 50 years old, approximately 6'1" and 260 pounds.
He had rusty-coloured hair with freckles on his nose and under his eyes.
