REVELSTOKE, B.C. - One man has been killed after a group of back-country skiers were caught up in an avalanche on the back side of the Revelstoke Mountain Resort in southeastern B.C.
Rob Elliot, general manager of the Revelstoke Mountain Resort, says a group of five or six men were skiing when the avalanche came down, catching three of the men.
RCMP confirm one of them died in the slide.
Elliot says the group was skiing outside the boundaries of the resort.
The Canadian Avalanche Centre warned Friday the avalanche danger was high in many areas of the province.
The high rating means travel isn't recommended in alpine and treeline areas and human-triggered avalanches are likely.
