Ottawa residents will get a chance to sit down with one of sixty human "books" available to sign out at locations across the city on Saturday.
The Human Library, which runs Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at six locations, allows people to check out a person for 20 minutes of conversation.
Ten people will be available at the Canadian War Museum and at five Ottawa public library branches:
Main branch at 120 Metcalfe Street
Greenboro District Library at 363 Lorry Greenberg Drive
Nepean Centrepointe Branch at 101 Centrepointe Drive
Cumberland branch at 1599 Tenth Line
Stittsville branch at 1637 Stittsville Main Street
The concept of the Human Library was launched in Denmark in 2000 as a way to encourage dialogue and build relations.
The Human Library is being presented by the CBC, Ottawa Public Library and the Canadian War Museum. For more information about who is available to check out at each branch, click here.
