Human remains found in wooded area near Massey Drive
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook is investigating a sudden death following the discovery of a body on Saturday.
Police responded to a wooded area near Massey Drive known as Breeches Pond at 1:15 p.m. after receiving a report that an adult woman's remains were found.
The RNC's Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Section are working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to identify the woman and determine the cause of death.
Police are not concerned for the safety of the public at this time.
