The job picture on P.E.I. may be improving, as a recent survey of the number people looking for work versus the number of jobs available fell in June.
Statistics Canada reports the ratio fell from about 10 in May to 6.4 in June. That's also significantly lower than the ratio in June 2011, when there were 11.5 Islanders looking for each job available.
The size of the workforce was about the same in both Junes, but there were significantly more unemployed in 2011: 10,000 versus 9,300 in June 2012.
