Joel Clow, accused of Traci Lynch's murder, remains in custody

A hearing for Joel Lawrence Clow, the man charged in the murder of Traci Lynn Lynch — whose body was found in the community of Pleasant Grove Friday evening — was adjourned Monday to Aug. 19.

The body of 40-year old Lynch was found in a wooded area off Pleasant Grove Road, say police, who continue to investigate around the rural property.

Clow, 46, remained in custody Monday while a legal aid lawyer appeared on his behalf in Charlottetown provincial court.

Clow is charged with one count of murder and one count of indecent interference with a human body.

The Crown prosecutor requested an adjournment of the case, saying investigators need more time in order to provide full disclosure of facts to the defence.

Judge Nancy Orr granted that request and ordered Clow to have no contact with people associated with the case.

Clow also faces a charge of uttering a threat and of interfering with a police officer from alleged incidents in May of this year. He was also convicted and sent to jail four years ago for assault and weapons offences following a standoff with police in Covehead.

Clow will remain in custody until his next court appearance.

Lynch's friends and family have set up a Facebook page in her memory and in support of her young son.
