Johnny Depp Files Request to Keep Amber Heard Divorce Details Private

Johnny Depp has responded to Amber Heard's legal request for financial information with a filing of his own.

The 53-year-old actor has asked for confidentiality agreement with Heard, filing a request for a protective order on all documents in their divorce case.

In documents obtained by ET, Depp's team asserts he is willing to produce the financial documents requested by Heard, however, he would like the confidentiality agreement to be put in place before releasing any information, to protect his privacy.

"This case has been extraordinarily public since its inception," the docs state. "Every detail of this action has been chronicled by the media and it has become one of the most heavily publicized divorces in recent memory."

So far, Heard has refused to sign any agreement to maintain confidentiality on the case; in the court documents, Depp's attorney, Laura Wasser, alleges the 27-year-old actress and her counsel, Samantha Spector, have already participated in at least one media story, leaking specific provisions from prior settlement communications.

"Amber's need for financial information to resolve this case is distinct from the public's appetite for information about celebrity divorces," Depp's legal team states, adding that they have presented two different confidentiality agreements to Heard. "Amber has inexplicably refused to sign any agreement to maintain confidentiality in this action."

Depp is also requesting that the court squash subpoenas of several records requested by Heard, including the financial records of his bandmates.

According to Wasser, the Pirates of the Carribbean star was willing to participate in mediation to resolve his divorce from Heard, using the mediator that she had proposed, however the former couple has failed to schedule a meeting.

Last month, reports surfaced that a settlement was the reason behind postponing a previously scheduled restraining order hearing, now set for Aug. 15 and 16. Sources close to Depp reportedly say the two are discussing a mutual agreement to keep their distance, as well as an agreement on property settlement and spousal support. Heard previously requested $50,000 a month in alimony, which she later retracted.

In court documents obtained by ET, the actress claimed she initially asked for temporary spousal support because she thought it was standard operating procedure in a divorce case, but now feels her request is being "used against me to distract and divert the public away from the very serious real issue of domestic violence." She listed her monthly income as $10,000, with expenses ringing in at $43,700 per month.

Heard was granted a temporary restraining order in May after alleging that Depp was both emotionally and physically abusive towards her throughout their relationship. Depp has not addressed the claims directly, however Wasser has claimed in previous court documents that the actress is "attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse."

While both Depp and Heard seem to be keeping a low-profile amid the legal drama, the Oscar-nominated actor did recently make an appearance on L.A.'s 95.5 KLOS Jonesy's Jukebox, where he discussed the "drag" of living his life in the spotlight.
