Keira Knightley braves wild weather for TIFF Laggies premeire

Keira Knightley didn't have to work to achieve a windswept look at the premiere of Laggies at the Toronto International Film Festival Wednesday night.

Relentless wind, and heavy rain gave each star that glamorous hair-in-a-wind-machine look — and threatened to knock down the whole red carpet tent.

At times, the British actress had to hold onto her tresses with both hands just to see the line of reporters huddled before her.

"Oh, this is fun isn't it? It's glamorous right? Are we trying to sell glamour? I don't think we're pulling it off."

Laggies is also a far cry from the glamorous period dramas Knightley is known for.

In Lynn Shelton’s new movie Knightley plays a feckless twenty-something American who takes off with a teenage friend after her boyfriend proposes.

Ruffalo's rainy red carpet

An afternoon drizzle failed to dampen the crowd's enthusiasm for the premiere for Mark Ruffalo's new movie: Infinitely Polar Bear.

Lines of fans wildly chanted the actor's name as he made his way to the red carpet outside Roy Thompson Hall.

"It's nice, but I've never had that before," the actor remarked modestly.

"Something has changed since the last time I was here."

That "something" was a little movie called The Avengers, in which Ruffalo plays the rage-addled Incredible Hulk.

In this new movie, Ruffalo faces a more mortal struggle, playing a loving father who trying to raise his two daughters while battling bipolar disorder. The role taught him an important lesson about mental illness.

"[People with mental-illnesses] have these moments of sickness, but who they are as a person is always sort of there and apparent."

The Toronto International Film Festival wraps on Sunday.
