Knife-wielding man robbed 7-Eleven twice in same month, police say
Toronto police say a man robbed the same convenience store twice in the same month and they allege he carried a knife with him in both cases.
Police say a 7-Eleven convenience store in the Dundas Street West and Runnymede Road area was robbed at 2:20 a.m on Jan. 16.
It is alleged that a man wielding a butcher knife went behind the counter and demanded money. Police say the suspect used a scarf to disguise his face.
Seven days later, police say a man with a knife came into the same convenience store, just after 2 a.m.. Again, the suspect demanded money. Police say he also threatened the victim.
Last Thursday, police arrested a 23-year-old Toronto man. The accused faces seven charges, including two counts of armed robbery, two counts of disguise with intent and a single count of threatening death.
None of the charges have been proven in court.
