Man HOWLS In Court After He ‘Decapitated Wife And Dogs And Cut Off His Own Arm And Eye’

(Handout)

A man accused of decapitating his wife and dogs before mutilating himself HOWLED during his first appearance in court.

Kenneth Wakefield let out a two-second shriek while placing his heads in his hands as the judge listed his alleged crimes.

The 43-year-old, from Phoenix, Arizona, is said to have attacked wife Trina Heisch, 49, in an attempt to “get the evil out of her”.

Wakefield apparently told police that he stabbed Heisch multiple times and having killed her, cut off her head.

He then apparently killed his pet dogs before cutting off their heads, and admitted to police that he had been smoking marijuana about an hour before the attack.

Prosecutors say that Wakefield then attempted to hide the bodies before cutting off his own hand and gouging out his eye.

The gruesome scene was discovered after a neighbour went to check on the couple after the attack and Wakefield answered the door completely naked and covered in blood.

Wakefield has a history of mental illness and was released from a psychiatric hospital less than a year ago after he was deemed to not be a danger to the public.

His wife also had a history of mental illness and served 10 years in hospital after stabbing her teenage son while he was sleeping.

Wakefield was charged with murder and animal cruelty following his arrest.
