A Mazatlan media source has identified the individual charged with beating a Calgary woman at a five-star Mexican resort.
José Ramón Acosta Quintero, a native of the area colony Villa Tutuli
has been arrested, according to media outlet Noroeste. A motive for the
attack is not known at this time, but officials have said Quintero is
known to frequent hotels and other tourist areas in Mazatlan.
He also apparently speaks quite good English.
Quintero's alleged victim, 37-year-old Calgary resident Sheila Nabb,
was found in a pool of her own blood inside an elevator at the Hotel
Riu Emerald Bay last weekend.
According to her family, Nabb returned home to Calgary last night and is scheduled to undergo further surgery.
