Three medical resident students are suing the University of Ottawa and ten faculty members for $120 million, alleging a conspiracy against the students that included intimidation, defamation and discrimination.
Khalid Aba-Alkhail and Manal Alsaigh are medical residents in the Cardiac Surgery Program of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.
Waleed AlGhaithy is a former medical resident in the Neurosurgery Program of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. His claim includes an allegation of wrongful dismissal.
All three "out-funded" by the Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau which paid their residency position salaries, benefits and tuition fees.
Last year, the three also filed a Human Rights Complaint against the University of Ottawa.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
