Michael Bay Directing 'Transformers 4,' Release Date Set For 2014

    "Transformers 4" is officially on.

The next installment in the franchise is set for release on June 29, 2014 and will be helmed once again by director Michael Bay, Paramount confirmed on Monday night.

Bay signed a two-picture deal with the studio, which begins with "Pain and Gain," and includes the fourth installment in the "Transformers" series.

Production on "Transformers 4" will begin after "Pain and Gain," his feature film starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, is completed.

Bay isn't the only returning member of the "Transformers" team. Paramount said also on board will be producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto and Ian Bryce; and executive producers Steven Spielberg, Bay, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian.

As for "Pain and Gain," a passion project for Bay, the film will follow "a group of bodybuilders who engaged in a campaign of kidnapping, extortion and murder in Florida," based on a true story, Paramount confirmed.

We all know that this movie is going to suck and there is nothing that we can do to prevent Bay(splosion!) from directing it. However, if the movie fails horribly and noone goes to see it, there is a really good chance that Bay will get booted. His contractual agreement with Paramount only covers two movies from now until the end of 2014, one of which isn't even a Transformers movie. If you don't like Bay, then don't go to the theatre to watch the movie. He'll get canned eventually.

ok david mackaye post..ur f***in stupid the whole point of the series is about the human factor to a war that already ruined one planet an how the autobots r tryin to stop it from happenin again...plus the humanistic views r the whole point optimus is tryin to make to megatron..

I hope they include the Dinobots in this movie. And maybe Unicron.
      • jarjar 3 months ago
YESSS!!! I am so tired of these weak new characters. Bring back the Dinobots, hell even Hot Rod! And Unicron would make the perfect villain. I wouldn't even care if they drug that story line out.
      • anthonyz 3 months ago
I'm glad they made the last one right this time. They took season 1 of the transformers when megatron brought cybertron to earth and when megatron beat optimus prime in a fight and the autobots had to leave earth. Hope they do the same in the 4th movie and stick more to the cartoon series.

I didn't think they were going to end it without showing Unicron and Primus. A Shattered Glass trilogy would totally rock! CAN'T WAIT TIL 2014!!!

I wish they would just stop making Transformer movies. The first was cool and a bit cheesie...but still enjoyable to watch. The 2nd movie was Ok and megan fox was out of control hot in that flick, still felt really long. The 3rd was a huge waste of time...Even the cute chick that took over for fox couldn't keep me interested...just let the franchise go, they are only going to make it worse.

Will all of you PLEASE STOP SCREAMING FOR MEGAN FOX TO COME BACK!!!!!!! She could not act any better than the blond! Come on people! The hell with the useless human and no talent bimbos and more on the bots! That is what the series is all about. Or supposed to be about anyway. The stupid love stories are boring! Neither Fox nor the blond is in the movies for any reason other than to have a hot brawd on the cover! And GET RID OF BAY!!!!!!!!
    • whitewater30  •  3 months ago
More stuff blowing up for 2 hours. Mr. Bay, please hire a better lead actresss. Yes, the blond in the last one was stunning, but there are plenty of beautiful women in hollywood that can actually act.

I like Transformers, but please no Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. She was NO VALUE ADD and the match with her and Shia was a huge stretch.
      • Luke 3 months ago
They could have made the second and third without a female lead. Actually, they could have just not made the second at all.

TF2...crap..TF3.....crappier, just random edited clips mushed together with recycled sound effects.

      Don't waste your money folks.

There are too many #$%$ humans in these Transformer movies and if this continues the whole plot will be about Sam buying his first house. Seriously, Shockwave alone would've brought in one hell of a plot but bay had to mess that up. Galvatron would be a nice addition perhaps Unicron but if bay's directing chances are Optimus Prime will be battling generic decepticons w/ dreadlocks and martians.

im just wonder how the movies sucked when they have each grossed like a billion individually?

Just like Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, and all the Star Wars prequels. just cause they make money, doesnt mean they are 'good filmmaking'

Bay is horrible. On one hand I want to see the dinobots because they are awesome on the other hand I don't because I know bay will ruin them.
