    Money being raised for woman beaten in Mexico

    Friends, family and complete strangers from across Canada are coming together to aid a Calgary woman beaten near-death inside a Mexican hotel.


    Sheila Nabb, 37, remains in hospital and likely faces a long — and costly — recovery.


    To help cover the costs, a fundraiser was held in Banff late Monday and numerous others are planned for areas like Langley, B.C., and Moose Jaw, Sask.


    According to a Facebook post, family members in Nabb’s native Nova Scotia are also organizing a gathering, but details are still being sorted.
