    New Mormon temple now dedicated

The new Mormon temple in northwest Calgary is being dedicated Sunday.

Three ceremonies are being held at the 33,000 square foot temple in the community of Rocky Ridge and many people turned out to see it.

"It's an honour, my son is conducting the choir," said Melody Cutler. "It's so special and there's so many people that live here that can come here instead of travelling so far."

The temple is the first built in Calgary, and joins two others in the province. In Canada, there are eight Mormon temples.

It's open for ordinance work for all patrons starting Tuesday and will serve 25,000 Latter Day Saints in the area.

Earlier this month, the public were allowed to tour the temple.
