Montreal police are calling for the return of jewelry and diary stolen from the daughter of murder victim Diane Grégoire.
Police say someone stole the goods that Élizabeth Laplante had inherited from her mother.
Gregoire went missing four years ago, launching a massive search effort. Her body was located in late 2011 and her husband was arrested and charged in her murder.
He was found dead in his jail cell in January.
On Tuesday, the anniversary of Grégoire's disappearance, someone broke into Laplante’s east-end Montreal apartment.
In addition to her mother’s personal effects, the thief also took some electronics.
Montreal police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
The items can also be returned anonymously to Sun Youth.
“I could imagine that was a very hard day for the family and to come home and to see that she got robbed, it's another violation,” said Elizabeth Pousoulidis, who works with Laplante in a support group for families of victims.
“I do hope that anybody out there who has them or who has seen them to please return them to Sun Youth.”
