You must be yolking! Air passenger pays £3.20 for the world’s worst sandwich

SOME will argue that £3.20 is too much to pay for any bacon and egg sandwich.

But one Glasgow air passenger can justifiably feel he paid somewhat over the odds after all such a sum got him was an unbuttered roll containing a measly slice of bacon and a piece of egg.

The photo of the world’s stingiest bacon and egg sandwich was shared by Reddit user spambox.

‘This is what a £3.20 bacon and egg roll from Edinburgh Airport looks like,” he wrote, who said it was bought from EAT.’

He added: 'I never asked for a refund as I figured it must just be overpriced **** cause it’s an airport.’

And it appears the customer service at the cafe chain was equally inept. Spambox continued: 'The part that made it worse was that they told me to take a seat and they’d bring it over. The only empty table was clearly empty because it hadn’t been cleaned for what appeared to be weeks and then after 15 minutes I had to go back and ask where my roll was which they had totally forgotten about.

‘As miffed as I was about the terrible service as soon as I opened it I burst out laughing as did my girlfriend because, well, look at it. It’s so bad it’s funny’

Needless to say, Reddit users were quick to poke fun at the situation, joking that the egg must have been laid by a hummingbird and the bacon had come from a micro pig.

A spokesman from Edinburgh Airport told The Scotsman: 'We work closely with all of our food and beverage providers to ensure we offer customers the best choice of refreshments and service.

'Sadly on this occasion we fell below the mark and offer our apologies to this customer. Clearly this is not the service we should be providing and we will be addressing this complaint with EAT.’
