N.B. man killed in Labrador industrial accident
A New Brunswick man was killed after falling from the roof of an apartment building in western Labrador.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the man, 45, had been working on the roof at the Embassy apartment building in Labrador City when something went wrong around 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Police have not named the man, nor what community he was from.
The man fell six storeys to the ground, along with a piece of heavy equipment.
Weather conditions at the time were poor, with high winds and blowing snow.
Paramedics and police responded immediately to the scene. Late Friday night, police revealed that the industrial accident was now a fatality.
Occupational health and safety officials are also investigating the incident.
The McCarthy's Roofing company had started upgrades to the building in the summer.
