Six Newfoundlanders have been named to Canada's senior team, which will compete at the World Men's Softball Championships next March in Auckland, New Zealand.
Ryan Boland and Jason Hill of St. John's, Sean Cleary and Brad Ezekiel of Harbour Main, and Stephen Mullaley of Freshwater will all be on the national team.
Les Howey of Conception Bay, meanwhile, was named an assistant coach.
The men have proven themselves to be a winning combination in past series.
All, except Cleary, were on the team that won gold at the Pan-Am Championships in Colombia last month.
The International Softball Federation's World Softball Championships will take place March 1 to March 10, 2013.
