File photo shows medics evacuating an unidentified British soldier at the Salerno Air field hospital in the Khost Afghan province. Hospitals treating British troops wounded by Afghan insurgents are under growing pressure, a watchdog warned Wednesday, ahead of a major offensive expected to trigger a fresh surge in casualties.
