Iraqis walk towards a destroyed vehicle caught in one of two suicide bombings in the western city of Ramadi, 100kms west of the capital Baghdad, on November 1. The US government has no precise figure for how many contractors are employed in Iraq and Afghanistan, inviting the risk of fraud and security threats, a US commission warned on Monday.
