House of Commons Speaker Peter Milliken, centre, listens to the Throne Speech in the Senate Chamber on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008. Milliken's job might be compared to herding cats, but he's done it longer than anyone in Canadian history. Milliken is the Speaker of the House of Commons and, as of today, he will have held the job for 3,178 days, surpassing the tenure of Lucien Lamoureux, a Trudeau-era Speaker.
