Residents react as gunpowder explode from an unmanned hot air balloon during a competition in Taunggyi, the capital of the southern Shan State of Myanmar November 1, 2009. During the annual Tazaungdaing Festival, traditionally hand-made hot air balloons are released into the air. The competition judges balloons based on their beauty, altitude achieved, and the amount of time they can spend in the air.
