Locals look into a crater in field near Mazsalaca, about 170 km (106 miles) from Riga, October 26, 2009. The object, a possible meteorite, fell from the sky on Sunday and a geological survey has started at the site and would probably last the next three days, according to press release from the Latvia's Ministry of Enviroment. Local media reported the crater to 5-meters-deep and about 10-meters-wide, and said last registered meteorite landed in Latvia year 1890, but did not leave a crater.
