This undated image provided by the Hammer Museum shows a detail from R. Crumb's illustrated Book of Genesis. Crumb's religious upbringing might be as unorthodox as the psychedelic-inspired comic-strip characters that made him the most famous underground artist of his time. With his latest project, an illustrated, comic-book version of 'The Book of Genesis,' the reclusive artist re-imagines the Creation story with an eye for what they tell us about humanity.
