    Police investigate southwest Ottawa shooting

    An Ottawa man is in hospital after he was shot in the leg Thursday night in the city's southwest end.

    Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 300 block of Woodfield Drive, near Woodroffe Avenue and West Hunt Club Road, around 9:30 p.m.

    When officers arrived they found the man in his 20s in the parking lot of a housing complex with a gunshot wound to his leg.

    He was transported to hospital in stable condition.

    Witnesses said they heard at least three shots fired.

    The Ottawa police guns and gangs unit is investigating and anyone with information about the shooting should call police at 613-236-1222, ext. 5050.
