Ottawa police are probing the city's first homicide of 2012.
Ottawa police are investigating the city’s first homicide of the year after a man was fatally stabbed overnight.
A male was found suffering from stab wounds on Dalhousie Street near Rideau Street at about 2:30 a.m.
Staff Sgt. Bruce Pirt said the male was rushed to hospital and subsequently died of his injuries.
Police later identified the victim as 24-year-old Navid Niran of Ottawa.
The major crimes unit is now investigating his death.
No arrests have been made.
