PAL flight forced to abandon landing last week at YYT

A PAL Aerospace Beech 200 aircraft was forced to abandon a landing at St. John's International Airport last week.

According to a Transport Canada report, the plane was told to hold off from landing on runway 29, because it was too close to a Cougar Sikorsky helicopter that was trying to land.

The report says "spacing was insufficient to ensure safe landing."

The pilot was instructed by the tower to miss its approach and circle the airport.

The plane landed safely.
