Ray Manzarek of 1960s rock group The Doors, holds up an unauthorized Japanese compact disc (CD) of American music at a news conference calling attention to a list of pre-1971 American artists and songs pirated by Japanese companies, in Los Angeles in this February 9, 1996 file photo.
