Frozen 'landscape' found in storage facility
And you thought the freezer in your parents' garage needed defrosting. A gigantic walk-in freezer from the Fulton Market Cold Storage Co. in Chicago was defrosted last November after 80-plus years of sub-zero temperatures. Photographer Gary Jensen captured pictures of the ice before it melted away.
The images are both beautiful and desolate, giving the viewer a chance to imagine the slow but steady transformation that occurred. The freezer looks like something out of the ice age. Thousands of icicles hang from the ceiling. Piles of frost clog the floors. Grab your warmest parka and take a look.
