Japan defends disputed islands

When a fishing boat carrying Taiwanese activists was spotted heading towards the disputed islands in the East China Sea on January 24, Japan retaliated by spraying water on the boat from a Coast Guard patrol ship. The islands, called Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China, are part of an ongoing disagreement over who geographically has claim to the islands.
