Kateri Tekakwitha canonized
North America's first aboriginal saint, Mohawk Kateri Tekakwitha, was one of seven saints canonized by Pope Benedict XVI during a mass at the Vatican on Sunday, Oct. 21. The "Lily of the Mohawks" died in 1680 in what is now Canada. She was 24.
