    Peter Lougheed seriously ill

    The former Alberta premier, who is now 84, is said to be gravely ill with an undisclosed illness and in Calgary hospital. Lougheed served as premier from 1971 to 1985 ending 36 years of Social Credit governments in Alberta. He also played for the Edmonton Eskimos.
