Unfinished 'Hotel of Doom'

The 105-storey, pyramid-shaped Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang, North Korea, is stirring up some questions after a tour group went into the hotel lobby, only to discover it unfinished with exposed concrete on many of the floors above. The hotel has been 25 years in the making, and is expected to open in two to three years.

Ryugyong Hotel. The Ryugyong has a rocky history with construction beginning in 1987 and to be completed in 1989. Construction stopped in 1992 with the collapse of the Soviet Union. The building stood as a concrete hulk until 2008 when construction was resumed by an Egyptian company.
