West Quebec driver unhurt after car impaled upon fence post

An 18-year-old woman escaped injury after accidentally impaling her car on a fence pole in west Quebec Monday afternoon.

The woman was driving on Chemin de la Montagne in the Pontiac region at around 2:35 p.m. when she lost control of her car, according to the MRC des Collines, the regional police force in west Quebec.

Her car struck a farm fence with such force that a piece of the fence went straight through the passenger side of the front windshield, police said.

Fortunately, no one was sitting in the passenger seat, said police.

The driver was also not hurt.

The MRC des Collines had warned drivers on Monday to slow down and exercise caution after 5 to 10 cm of snow fell in the region.
