Ripley's Aquarium opens its doors Wednesday

Ripley's Aquarium of Canada is finally set to open its doors this Wednesday, offering marine lovers the chance to get up close and personal with an array of sea creatures.

The much-anticipated tourist attraction was scheduled to open last June, but was delayed due to construction.

The aquarium, located in downtown Toronto near the CN Tower, will feature 50 exhibits and more than 100 interactive displays, where guests will be invited to touch sting rays, sharks and other animals.

As the largest indoor aquarium in Canada, the 12,500 square-metre facility is home to 15,000 marine animals and one reptile — a sea turtle.
