LAGOS (AFP) - Reigning world indoor champion Olusoji Fasuba will lead Nigeria's 33-strong squad to next month's Beijing Olympics.
Obinna Metu, the winner of the men's 100 metres in the pre-Olympics trials in Abuja last week, has also been included in the squad and will also compete in the 200 metres.
Sprinters Adetoyi Durotoye, Uchenna Emedolu, Chinedu Oriala, Onyeabor Nwaogu and Deji Aliu also made the squad.
In the 400m and 4x400m, Goodday James will join Saul Weipogwa, Bola Lawal, Gbenga Awoleye, Victor Isaiah and Femi Ogunode to compete for medals.
The women are led by Damola Osayomi, who won both the 100 and 200m at the Abuja trials.
Others in the team are Francisca Idoko, Gloria Kemasuode, Agnes Osazuwa, Halimat Ismaila and Kate Aregunmen.
Doreen Amata, who won gold in high jump at the All Africa Games in Algiers last year, is included while Blessing Okhagbare (long jump), Chinonye Ohadugba (triple jump) and Vivian Chukwuemeka (shot put) complete the squad.
