TORONTO - She tore up the charts with a sexy collaboration with Timbaland, and now Nelly Furtado is flirting with the country flavour of Keith Urban.
The Canadian pop star says she and Urban have recorded a duet, a new interpretation of her ballad, "In God's Hands", from her album "Loose."
Furtado scored big last year when she collaborated with Timbaland on songs including "Promiscuous," "Maneater" and "Give It To Me."
But despite her pop leanings, she says she loves country music.
Furtado says she always thought "In God's Hands," needed a country voice and immediately thought Urban would be a perfect fit.
This summer, Furtado heads to Europe for tour stops including the Netherlands, Romania and Germany.
"I love country music," Furtado said Friday in a release.
"I have always thought that the song "Gods Hands" needed a country singer on it and Keith was my first choice. He's right on the border of country, roots and pop. He really defies description, and those are my favourite kinds of artists."
