MOSCOW - An unmanned Russian cargo ship is heading for the International Space Station after blasting off with supplies, equipment and gifts for the station's crew.
A spokesman says the ship is carrying about two tonnes of oxygen, water and food for the crew, which includes an American astronaut and two Russian cosmonauts.
The spokesman says Progress M-64 lifted off as scheduled early Thursday morning from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
The ship is set to dock at the station Saturday.
