JERUSALEM - Israel's public security minister says he plans to seek the leadership of embattled Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's Kadima Party one day.
Public Security Minister Avi Dichter is a member of Kadima and spoke to Israel Radio today.
Olmert is the target of a widening corruption probe, and is reportedly facing a second round of questioning this week.
Police are looking into allegations that he received tens of thousands of dollars in illicit cash contributions.
Dichter is in charge of police but says he's not involved in any way in the investigation.
Dichter told the radio he plans to seek the leadership of Kadima one day, but would only announce a bid if it becomes a realistic option. Olmert has said he'll resign if indicted.
