TORONTO - Omar Khadr's lawyer says many Canadians are upset that Prime Minister Stephen Harper has reacted dismissively to reports the teenager was abused at Guantanamo Bay.

Lawyer Dennis Edney says he's received numerous emails expressing anger at being misled by the government and at Harper's "intractability."

Intelligence reports made public last week described how Khadr had been subject to sleep deprivation and other abuse to soften him up for interrogation.

Video of the interrogations is expected to be released Tuesday, and Edney says he hopes it will further stoke public outrage against Harper.

Ottawa has always maintained the young Canadian had been well cared for by his American captors, and Harper says there is nothing he can do now to bring Khadr home.

Khadr was just 15 when he was arrested after a firefight in Afghanistan left him badly injured and then transferred to the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay.
