QUEBEC - The Crown has charged a Quebec man with sexual assault causing bodily harm after he allegedly kidnapped an eight-year-old boy and dumped him inside an old oil heating tank.

Pierre Defoy, 50, was also charged in Quebec City today with criminal assault putting a life in danger and with invitation to sexual touching on a child under 14.

Earlier this week he was charged with kidnapping, kidnapping a child under 14 and illegal confinement.

The incident began Tuesday evening in Levis, just across the St. Lawrence River from Quebec City, when a man stopped his vehicle and grabbed the boy as he played with some friends on their bicycles.

Police say the boy was put in the trunk and that an alert citizen in Quebec City later spotted him being taken out of the car and into an apartment building.

Police say the boy was discovered bound and gagged in an old heating oil tank in the basement.
